Heighten and Justify (Guest Improv Workshop)

HEIGHTEN and JUSTIFY: How Emotional Truth and Specificity Help You Play Any Longform Improv Scene

Pre-requisite - Some Improv Experience
Time - 12/9 3-5pm
Cost - $40

In this workshop students will practice establishing and playing strong, authentic emotional points of view in their scenes. We will explore how meaningful emotion - played truthfully - can drive scene work in unexpected ways and make an improviser a more confident performer and more reliable scene partner. Students will leave with exercises for continued practice and new tactics for supporting their scene partners and developing their characters.

About the Coaches - Ryan Myers and Ashley Rube are St. Louis based improvisers, commercial actors, writers, and teachers. They serve as faculty members of The Improv Shop (STL) Training Center and co-direct the Business Services division.

Since forming their team Touch Baseball, Ashley and Ryan have become a mainstay among Improv Shop House Teams (150+ shows); performed and/or taught workshops for the Third Coast Comedy (Nashville), Omaha Comedy, and Flyover Comedy (St. Louis) Festivals; and debuted the semi-improvised game show "Broke!"
